Healthcare providers are required by state and federal laws to incorporate Health Information Technology (Health IT) into their workflows, clinical decisions and daily operations.
The "Triple Aim" of these regulations is to improve the quality of care patients receive, improve the health of populations, and reduce the per capita cost of care. This is easier said than done, and providers may face significant challenges that impede their ability to adopt Health IT and advance the transformation.
The Health IT economy goes beyond providers. Opportunities stretch into all markets that serve the healthcare space.
MeHI exists to help providers and other participants in this Health IT economy through assistance programs, which focus on eHealth education, implementation support and funding, and stakeholder collaboration.
To advance progress across the industry, our programs facilitate interpretation of regulations, procurement of technology, transformation management, eHealth innovation, and workforce development. The programs also provide grants and incentives to fund Health IT.
