MeHI has received various federal and state funding to execute Health IT related programs that support the advancement of Health IT in Massachusetts since 2010. As programs come to a close, MeHI will continue to maintain program content, best practices, reports and other resources on our website to assist providers in the future. Some examples of past funding include:
- MeHI administered the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program under contracts with EOHHS. The primary goal of the program was to incentivize Eligible Hospitals (EHs) and Eligible Professionals (EPs) to adopt an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and demonstrate Meaningful Use (MU). The program started in 2011 and closed out in 2022.
- The Regional Extension Center (active program until Feb 2015) and the State Health Information Exchange (HIE) Cooperative Agreement Program were grants MeHI was awarded through the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) of Health IT, at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The grant funded a variety of programs.
