MeHI developed the Health Information Technology (Health IT) Mentorship Program to provide opportunities for Massachusetts college students to learn about careers in the Health IT field, network with each other and Health IT professionals and gain valuable experience as they complete a Health IT project with the guidance of a mentor. The goal of the Health IT Mentorship Program is to advance the Health IT workforce in Massachusetts by encouraging college students from a wide variety of backgrounds to pursue a career in Health IT.
We take a broad view of Health IT that includes support with both software and hardware, as well as health information management, informatics, data analysis, digital health navigation and more. We welcome mentors from hospitals, community health centers, community-based organizations, provider groups and other healthcare organizations.
