Program Details - Winner Announced
From a pool of 27 applications, three finalists were selected to participate in a one-day virtual workshop and pitch prep coaching to prepare for the final pitch competition. At a virtual competition on April 30, 2024, a panel of expert judges selected Tembo Health as the winner. Tembo will pilot their solution with members of the WellSense Senior Care Options (SCO) plan, an opportunity valued at $50,000 that will be supported by a collaboration of two of MeHI’s Digital Health Sandboxes: UMass Chan Medical School and UMass Lowell. Tembo Health offers 24/7 concierge support for caregivers and seniors living with dementia. Their comprehensive care model includes a dedicated care team to coach, navigate, and coordinate care for caregivers and families, as well as passive vital sign monitoring to track wellness and clinical deterioration. Through radar and pressure technology, Tembo uses sensors to monitor, interpret, and analyze vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, sleep quality and disturbances, time in bed, and falls. These data points enable Tembo to refine their proprietary machine-learning algorithms, identify patterns, intervene, and proactively coach caregivers and care teams.
